DNA-Free Bst DNA polymerase (Full Length) is a full-length DNA polymerase derived from the thermophilic bacterium Bacillus stearothermophilus. It exhibits 5´→3´ DNA polymerase and 5´→3´ exonuclease activities but lacks 3´→5´ exonuclease activity. This enzyme has very strong 5´→3´ exonuclease activity, making it unsuitable for strand displacement but ideal for nick translation reactions on double-stranded DNA, especially at high temperatures. Taq DNA polymerase, on the other hand, has weak 5´→3´ exonuclease activity and is not suitable for nick translation. Additionally, Bst DNA polymerase can be used for primer extension reactions at high temperatures, similar to Taq DNA polymerase.

Description

DNA-Free Bst DNA polymerase (Full Length) is a full-length DNA polymerase derived from the thermophilic bacterium Bacillus stearothermophilus. It exhibits 5´→3´ DNA polymerase and 5´→3´ exonuclease activities but lacks 3´→5´ exonuclease activity. This enzyme has very strong 5´→3´ exonuclease activity, making it unsuitable for strand displacement but ideal for nick translation reactions on double-stranded DNA, especially at high temperatures. Our DNA-Free Bst DNA polymerase (Full Length) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli and purified through multiple steps, devoid of genomic and plasmid DNA from the production strain.

 

Unit Definition

One unit is defined as the amount of enzyme required to incorporate 10 nmol dNTP into acid-insoluble material within 30 minutes at 65℃ under 1× Buffer reaction conditions.
